“It takes a village.”

Georges Balbuzard (François Cluzet), mayor of the small Norman village of Mêle sur Sarthe, will try anything to keep its farmers from losing everything in a crisis. The people he is trying to save are men like Roger (Grégory Gadebois) and Thierry Levasseur (François-Xavier Demaison), who have little time for his ideas. Philippe Le Guay films the village and its fields in an even, unhurried way, and lets the oddness come from the people.
