Norte, the End of History

“Unravelling at the speed of life.”

Fabian (Sid Lucero), a law student, wants the world to answer to his theories, and he has nothing but contempt for the people who live by its rules. After he commits a double murder, Joaquin (Archie Alemania), a poor father of two, is sentenced for the crime, and his wife Eliza (Angeli Bayani) is left to raise the children alone. Lav Diaz, working from a Dostoevsky story, lets the film run past four hours and gives each scene the time it needs.
