“A true story”

Toni Kurz (Benno Fürmann) and Andreas Hinterstoisser (Florian Lukas) are two German climbers who want to be the first up the North Face of the Eiger, the most dangerous rock face in the Alps. It is 1936, and other climbers are already competing to reach the summit first. Philipp Stölzl puts Kurz and Hinterstoisser on that face, on the rock and ice, with only the climb ahead of them.
