Corporal Steve Wagner (Errol Flynn) is a Mountie who wants one thing, the German spy he caught on a mission, who has since escaped the prison camp. To reach the ring behind him, the Mounties set up a ruse so the spies will think Steve is sympathetic and bring him in on their plans. Raoul Walsh sends Wagner into the cold alongside Colonel Hugo von Keller (Helmut Dantine), a man he has to fool for as long as he can.
