“Memories of Lives Lived”

Will Beam (Jon Hamm) wants to know what the things people leave behind are worth, and the answer depends on whose hands they are in. Mark Pellington follows Will, Donna (Catherine Keener), Daniel (John Ortiz) and others through separate stories joined by loss, each built around an object someone kept. The film treats a box of belongings as a way to hold onto a person, and the grief arrives through the objects.
