Paul Johnson (Paul Birch) arrives in a small American town wearing dark glasses and a stiff, formal manner, sent from the planet Davanna to collect human blood for his dying people. Their blood disease was caused by nuclear radiation, and he needs fresh supplies. Roger Corman shoots it in black and white on a 67-minute schedule, and Nadine Story (Beverly Garland), the nurse assigned to his care, is the first to sense he is not what he claims.
