A trip to Atlantic City goes wrong when a cop pulls over Chris Thorne (Chevy Chase) for a rolling stop in Valkenvania, a bankrupt hamlet that seems to run on one man's say-so. Passenger Diane Lightson (Demi Moore) and two Brazilian clients end up in the court of Judge Valkenheiser (Dan Aykroyd), who is 106 years old. Aykroyd, directing for the first time, makes the case about what a town takes from outsiders who arrive with money.
