Nouvelle Vague

A hitchhiker named Lennox (Alain Delon) is picked up on the road by the wealthy Elena Torlato-Favrini (Domiziana Giordano), who soon falls in love with him. Jean-Luc Godard builds the whole film from literary quotations, so the characters speak in lines borrowed from other writers and other centuries. When a drowning takes Lennox out of her life, she must decide what to do about the man who turns up later asking for work.
