Novitiate

Sister Cathleen (Margaret Qualley) enters a convent in the early 1960s wanting to give her whole life to God, and she means to be a nun in every way that counts. Her training falls under the Reverend Mother (Melissa Leo), who holds to old rules just as the Vatican II reforms begin to change the Church. Maggie Betts follows the novices through their silent days, with Cathleen's faith and her body no longer agreeing.
