Now and Then

“In every woman there is the girl she left behind.”

Roberta (Christina Ricci) is twelve in the summer of 1970, a tomboy who would rather be out with her three best friends than anywhere else. Years later the four women come back together and start remembering that summer: the boys, the secrets, the bullies. Lesli Linka Glatter moves between the grown women and the girls they were, and the film stays on those two groups of faces.
