Nowhere Boy

“As a boy all John Lennon needed was love.”

John Lennon (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is a rebellious teenager in mid-1950s Liverpool, raised by his strict Aunt Mimi (Kristin Scott Thomas). When her husband dies, John spots his mother Julia (Anne-Marie Duff) at the funeral and decides he wants her in his life, whatever Mimi thinks. Sam Taylor-Johnson follows him as Julia hands him his first music and the two women pull him in opposite directions.
