“When the law can't protect the innocent, the only hero left is an outlaw.”

Nobody on the farm knows why Sam Gillen (Jean-Claude Van Damme), an escaped convict, has landed on their property. Clydie Anderson (Rosanna Arquette), a widow raising two kids, is being pushed off her land by Mr. Dunston (Ted Levine) and the developers backing him. Robert Harmon sets a fugitive and a family against one problem, and the film is about who ends up living on a piece of ground and who gets to decide.
