Nuts in May

In 1976, Candice Marie (Alison Steadman) and Keith (Roger Sloman) take their tent to a campsite in Dorset, intent on a quiet holiday of fresh air and wholesome routines. Mike Leigh made this for the BBC's Play for Today, and the couple's strict habits, their singing, and their opinions about how a countryside holiday ought to go meet the neighbours soon enough. Candice Marie smiles and keeps pressing her way of doing things on everyone around her.
