Nymphomaniac: Vol. I

“Forget about love.”

Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård) finds a wounded woman lying in an alley one night and carries her to his flat. She gives her name as Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and tells him she is a nymphomaniac. Lars von Trier has her narrate hundreds of encounters since her early teens, with Young Joe (Stacy Martin) playing the girl in flashback, while Seligman answers with fly fishing and Fibonacci numbers.
