O Brother, Where Art Thou?

“They have a plan, but not a clue.”

Everett (George Clooney), a convict who escapes a chain gang in Depression-era Mississippi, needs to win back his wife Penny (Holly Hunter) before she remarries. He convinces two fellow escapees, Pete (John Turturro) and Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson), that a fortune is buried nearby. The Coens send them tumbling through a landscape of sirens, blind prophets, and a Bible salesman with fists like ham hocks, each obstacle more absurd than the last.
