“Hidden love! Hidden hate! Hidden fear!”

In London in 1949, Dr. Clive Riordan (Robert Newton), a psychiatrist, has learned that his wife Storm (Sally Gray) is seeing another man, an American named Bill Kronin (Phil Brown). Riordan decides on a revenge that will take time, and Edward Dmytryk follows him while Supt. Finsbury (Naunton Wayne) of the police becomes part of the story. The doctor's house stays quiet, his butler Aitkin (James Harcourt) moving through it, and Riordan waits.
