Obvious Child

In Brooklyn, Donna (Jenny Slate) does stand-up at a small bar, mostly about her own life, until a breakup and the loss of her day job leave her with less of it to joke about. A drunken night with Max (Jake Lacy), a graduate student, leaves her pregnant. Gillian Robespierre keeps the camera close and the performances loose, so Donna's bad decisions and her jokes land at the same size.
