October (Ten Days that Shook the World)
Lenin (Vasili Nikandrov) wants the Petrograd workers and soldiers to take power from the provisional government that followed the tsar's fall. Opposing him is Aleksandr Kerensky (Vladimir Popov), the head of that government, who is determined to hold it together. Sergei Eisenstein and Grigori Aleksandrov made this silent film for the revolution's tenth anniversary, and it sets Lenin's insistence against Kerensky's grip on the city.
