Ode to My Father

“One promise can shape a lifetime.”

Yoon Deok-soo (Hwang Jung-min) is separated from his father and little sister during the Hungnam evacuation of 1950, and he spends the rest of his life trying to get them back. To earn the money, he leaves for Germany to work as a miner, then follows the work to the Vietnam War. JK Youn tracks him through each decade, and the woman he marries, Young-ja (Yunjin Kim), is the one who stays beside him.
