Of Love and Shadows

“Surrounded by danger, they'll risk everything for freedom!”

Irene (Jennifer Connelly) edits a magazine in Pinochet's Chile and wants to keep her small, comfortable life as it is. Then the photographer Francisco (Antonio Banderas) turns up looking for work, and as a sympathizer with the underground resistance, he shows her what the state is doing to people. Betty Kaplan, adapting Isabel Allende's novel, follows Irene as she starts to look, knowing that seeing it makes her a target.
