Offside

The young women in Offside are fans first. Some have painted their faces, some wear their brothers' clothes, and all have tried to get into the stadium for Iran's 2006 World Cup qualifier against Bahrain. They are caught at the gates and held in a pen outside, watched by soldiers who don't much want the job. Jafar Panahi, working from his daughter's wish to attend a match, put them in the same cramped space and lets each one argue her own case.
