Oh Mercy

Daoud (Roschdy Zem), a police chief in northern France, wants to find out who killed an old woman on Christmas Eve, and the neighborhood hands him nothing but suspects. Arnaud Desplechin, working from a TV documentary about a real Roubaix police station, gives the interviews and paperwork the same weight as the street. Daoud sits across from Claude (Léa Seydoux) and Marie (Sara Forestier) and keeps asking, quietly, until the questions wear on him too.
