Oh, Mr. Porter!

(1937)Directed by Marcel Varnel85 minComedy

William Porter (Will Hay), a bungling railway worker, is handed the job of stationmaster at a rundown station in rural Ireland, and nobody can say why the place is so neglected. Marcel Varnel gives him two helpers, Jeremiah Harbottle (Moore Marriott), a toothless old gaffer, and Albert Brown (Graham Moffatt), a portly young loudmouth. Porter stands on the empty platform between them, a locomotive waiting to be taken somewhere.
