Old Fox

Liao Jie (Bai Run-yin) is eleven, and all he wants is a place of his own for his family, who rent from a landlord everyone calls Old Fox. His father, Liao Tai-Lai (Liu Kuan-Ting), works hard and has little to show for it, while Old Fox (Akio Chen) teaches the boy things his father never could. Hsiao Ya-chuan sets it in Taiwan in the late 1980s, and the boy keeps watching the landlord, who sits very still.
