Oliver Twist

Oliver Twist (Alex Trench) is an orphan raised on thin gruel in a Victorian workhouse, a boy who learns early that asking for more gets him punished. He runs for London and is taken in by Fagin (Richard Dreyfuss), who leads a gang of young pickpockets that includes the Artful Dodger (Elijah Wood). Tony Bill puts the camera at Oliver's height, and the poverty he left behind and the poverty he walks into look much the same.
