On the Milky Road

It is spring in a country at war, and every morning Kosta (Emir Kusturica) rides a donkey across the frontline to bring milk to the soldiers, bullets landing around him. A village girl, Milena (Sloboda Mićalović), loves him, and a quiet life seems to be waiting. Then Nevesta (Monica Bellucci) arrives from Italy, and Kosta stands in the road with the milk cans beside him and the donkey at his side.
