Once a Thief

“always a target, for either side of the law!”

In 1965 San Francisco, Eddie Pedak (Alain Delon), an ex-convict, is trying to make an honest life with his wife Kristine (Ann-Margret) and their young daughter Kathy. Inspector Mike Vido (Van Heflin) has not let go of him, and Eddie's brother Walter (Jack Palance) keeps turning up with a way back into the old trade. Ralph Nelson shoots the city in black and white, wet and crowded, and keeps Eddie small against it.
