Once Upon a Time in America

“Crime, passion and lust for power.”

Noodles (Robert De Niro) was a Jewish gangster on the Lower East Side during Prohibition, and he comes back to Manhattan more than thirty years later to a neighborhood that no longer holds the people he left. The film moves between that return and the boyhood friendship with Max (James Woods) that put them at the head of a ghetto crew. Sergio Leone lets the years overlap, and an old man walks the same streets he ran as a kid.
