In 1988, Johnny Leclerc (Julien Courbey) hides in the Sabri family's luggage so he can fly to Algeria for the summer. He is the son of a Norman mother and an Alsatian father, but he fasts for Ramadan, wears a djelaba, and believes his real name is Abdelbachir. Djamel Bensalah sends him to the coast with Yacine (David Saracino), who is dodging a local kaid and a father with a marriage already arranged.
