Once Upon a Time, There Was a King...
In a small fairy-tale kingdom, King Myself, First (Jan Werich) rules for his own comfort, tolerated by subjects who have little reason to like him. He asks his three daughters how much they love him, and when the youngest answers "more than salt," he banishes her and orders every grain in the realm gathered and destroyed. Bořivoj Zeman builds the story around a plain, humble thing, showing that the simplest things in life are often what matter most.
