One Cut of the Dead

“Don't Stop Shooting!”

Director Higurashi (Takayuki Hamatsu) is shooting a low-budget zombie film in an abandoned warehouse, the kind of place said to have hosted military experiments on humans. Shinichiro Ueda opens with his cast and crew in the middle of a take, until real zombies start coming through the building. Higurashi keeps the camera running while everyone around him scatters, because for him stopping would mean admitting the shoot is ruined.
