One Day, You Will Reach the Sea

Mana Kotani (Yukino Kishii) wants her best friend Sumire Utsuki (Minami Hamabe) to come back, and twelve years on she still cannot treat her death as settled. Ryutaro Nakagawa follows Mana through that long stretch as she tries to keep moving, with her sorrow trailing behind her. Loss doesn't end on a date, and the film lets the grief stay unfinished the way it does in life.
