Pin-Pon (Alain Souchon) is a quiet young mechanic in a small French village who wants one thing, the beautiful newcomer Elle (Isabelle Adjani). She lets him court her, but she has a reason of her own for the relationship, and she keeps it to herself. Jean Becker's film is about how far a man will follow desire before he stops asking what the other person is hiding.
