One-Eyed Jacks

(1961)Directed by Marlon Brando141 minWestern, Drama
“The motion picture that starts its own tradition of greatness.”

Rio (Marlon Brando) is a bank robber who spends years in a Mexican prison because his partner, Dad Longworth (Karl Malden), took the stolen gold and left him to be caught. When Rio breaks out, he goes looking for Dad, who is now a respected sheriff in California and has been dreading this visit. Brando, directing for the only time, plays the revenge as a debt between two men, each sure the other owes him.
