One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

“In this clean, orderly, disciplined world, who needs guys like McMurphy? Everybody.”

Randle Patrick McMurphy (Jack Nicholson), a petty criminal, fakes insanity so he can serve his sentence in a mental ward instead of a prison. He finds a ward of timid patients, including Billy Bibbit (Brad Dourif) and Dale Harding (William Redfield), all run by the soft-voiced Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher). Miloš Forman sets McMurphy's nerve against her control of the ward, and the men's small freedoms are the stakes.
