One Way Passage

(1932)Directed by Tay Garnett68 minRomance, Drama
“Their tickets took them to a heaven of love...but port was the gateway to hell!”

Dan Hardesty (William Powell) is a convicted murderer on a ship crossing the Pacific, a man whose smooth manner gives nothing away. Joan Ames (Kay Francis) sails the same route, carrying a diagnosis she tells no one. Tay Garnett puts the two of them in each other's company for the length of the voyage, and each keeps back the one thing that would change how the other looks at them.
