Onimasa: A Japanese Godfather

Why does a yakuza boss on Shikoku Island insist he lives like a samurai, when his trade is crime and his orders come from someone above him? Masagoro Kiryuin (Tatsuya Nakadai), called Onimasa, keeps that image of himself while his clan answers to the Big Boss (Tetsuro Tamba). Hideo Gosha tells it through Onimasa's adopted daughter, Matsue (Masako Natsume), whose life is tied to a code of justice and obedience he never lets go.
