“I'm going on a trip with me.”

Taeko Okajima (Miki Imai), twenty-seven and living in Tokyo, takes a holiday with relatives in the countryside. On the way, scenes from her life at ten, when she was a fifth grader (Yoko Honna), start coming back to her, and she wonders whether she has stayed true to the girl she was. Isao Takahata draws the present in detailed, grounded color and lets the memories fade softly at the edges.
