Open Hearts

Cecilie (Sonja Richter) and Joachim (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) are days from their wedding when a car hits Joachim and leaves him unable to move his body. The other driver, Marie (Paprika Steen), carries her own guilt home to her husband Niels (Mads Mikkelsen), a doctor at the hospital where Cecilie now spends her days. Susanne Bier made it under the Dogme 95 rules, with handheld cameras and no added lighting, so the camera stays close to the faces.
