Open Range

“No place to run. No reason to hide.”

Charley Waite (Kevin Costner) is a former gunslinger who now drives cattle for Boss Spearman (Robert Duvall), and he would like to leave that past alone. Their crew grazes free range across Montana, which puts them in the way of Denton Baxter (Gambon), a cattle baron who owns the land and the local lawman. Costner directs, and the film leaves its last picture on Charley, sun-bleached and quiet, still carrying the gun.
