“Obsession. Murder. Madness.”

In an Italian opera house, a young soprano named Betty (Cristina Marsillach) steps into the lead of a new staging of Verdi's Macbeth. Someone in a mask begins killing the people around her, and the murders happen inside the theater itself. Dario Argento shoots the killings with the same showy excess as the stage production, and the camera wanders as freely as the killer does.
