Origin: Spirits of the Past

“Together, we can face the future...”

Agito (Ryo Katsuji) is a boy who wants to understand a world where the forests have woken up and turned on the people who ruined them. Three hundred years on, he finds a machine glowing blue inside a forbidden sanctuary, and Keiichi Sugiyama builds the story from that single find. Humankind and the living forests are each fighting to survive, and neither side has a way to forgive the other.
