“In crime and comedy, timing is everything.”

It is Depression-era New York, and Angelo "Snaps" Provolone (Sylvester Stallone) has made his dying father a promise to give up crime and go straight. He has no training in earning money the legal way, but he sets about keeping his word. John Landis fills the household with relatives and visitors, among them Lisa (Marisa Tomei) and Sofia (Ornella Muti), and Snaps has one day to hold his new honest life together.
