Otherhood

“Life beyond motherhood”

It is Mother's Day, and in the suburbs the phones have gone quiet for three best friends: Carol Walker (Angela Bassett), Gillian Lieberman (Patricia Arquette) and Helen Halston (Felicity Huffman). They drive to New York to surprise their grown sons, including Daniel (Jake Hoffman) and Paul (Jake Lacy). Cindy Chupack, adapting William Sutcliffe's novel with Mark Andrus, keeps the camera on the women and lets the sons stay half-seen.
