Our Daily Bread

(1934)Directed by King Vidor80 minDrama, Romance
“We live! We love! We fight! We hate! What don't we do for - OUR DAILY BREAD”

Jobless in the Depression, John (Tom Keene) and Mary Sims (Karen Morley) leave the city for a failing patch of farmland, and other broke workers start turning up to join them. King Vidor, who first followed these two characters in The Crowd, fills the place with a crew of strangers who each bring a trade and a hunger. Out of that mix John and Mary have to hold together a marriage and a community at once.
