Out of Blue

“Can you explain your place in the Universe?”

Jennifer Rockwell (Mamie Gummer), an astrophysicist who studied black holes, is found shot dead in her observatory in New Orleans. Detective Mike Hoolihan (Patricia Clarkson) takes the case, and it soon drags her toward questions about quantum mechanics, parallel universes and exploding stars that have little to do with police work. Carol Morley adapts Martin Amis's novel Night Train and keeps the investigation turning in on itself.
