Out of the Furnace

“Sometimes your battles choose you.”

In the Rust Belt of western Pennsylvania, Russell Baze (Christian Bale) works the steel mill where his father worked, in a town that is running out of reasons to stay. His younger brother Rodney (Casey Affleck), back from Iraq, owes money to a bar owner and keeps taking bare-knuckle fights to pay it off. Scott Cooper stays with the two brothers, one steady and one reckless, and the bond between them is what pulls Russell toward a danger he can't walk away from.
