Bill Campbell (Matthew Broderick), a big-city banker, wants one thing: to get to his sister's small town, hand over the paperwork he's carrying, and go home. A woman robs him on the way, taking his clothes, his money and a document worth millions. Francis Veber sets Bill loose among a town full of eccentrics, where his sister's fear that their stepfather has been killed sends him chasing answers while his own paperwork stays gone.
