Overcomer

“What do you allow to define you?”

John Harrison (Alex Kendrick) is a high school basketball coach who agrees, reluctantly, to take over the school's cross-country team. His runners include Hannah Scott (Aryn Wright-Thompson), the least likely competitor on the roster, and the biggest race of the year is coming. Kendrick, who also directed and co-wrote, keeps the camera plain and close and lets the story move at the speed of a crowd-pleasing underdog tale.
