Nick De Angelo (Rob Lowe) has no business at Oxford, and the only reason he ends up there is a rich English woman he noticed in Las Vegas. Lady Victoria Wingate (Amanda Pays) is out of his reach, so he follows her to England, where the one way into her circle is a place on the university rowing team. Robert Boris sets the American hustler among the boats and the old stone, with Victoria's arrival giving every scene its pull.
